Situated on the site of the former sugar estate of Bel Ombre is Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort. Both impressive and imposing, the surrounding countryside features the foothills of the Plaine Champagne mountain, descending in a sheer drop of over 500 metres on the one side, while on the other, the vast Indian Ocean stretches to the horizon. The architecture of the resort is inspired by the grand sugar estate colonial mansions of Mauritius.

Nature lovers will enjoy the huge Bel Ombre nature park which is spread over 3500 acres. Half-day excursions conducted by guides trained by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation, are available.
